Today we reviewed the vocabulary pgs 96-100, went over some homework, practiced dialogues, and played a card game called “Allez à la pêche”.

Today we learned some new vocabulary (pg 98/100), practiced talking about our future dreams (questions 21 & 22 on question list), and practiced dialogues.

Today we finished our in-class reading activity (Diplodocus, pg 74) in groups and practiced dialogues.

TEC: “Le Concert de Diplodocus » pg 74-78, in groups of 2-3

     1.      Do the « avant de lire » activities on pg 74 with your group members

     2.      Take turns reading out loud.  Keep vocab/content notes!

     3.      Answer the « Avez-vous compris » questions in complete sentences and in FRENCH !

Devoirs : Finish “Diplodocus”, pg 79: Read “l’art de la lecture” and do “exercice de lecture”, study vocab pg 100 and then do pg 101 #5 (multiple choice!), study/practice: dialogues, verbs, question list!

Today we practiced the question list, went over some old homework, finalized dialogue scripts and turned them in, and started a reading activity in groups.

TEC :  “Le Concert de Diplodocus » pg 74-75, in groups of 2-3

      1.      Do the « avant de lire » activities on pg 74 with your group members

Mardi 10/03

Today we learned some new vocabulary (pg 96), did a sondage (survey), a pop quiz, and worked on revising dialogue scripts.

TEC:  Revise dialogue script (final due in class Thursday after 15 min work time)

Devoirs :  pg 97 # 1 (complete sentences with choices given or your own, write whole sentence !), Choose 5 people from sondage and write what they are going to do over spring break (complete sentences and be ready to share out!), any dialogue work that can’t be accomplished in 15 min class work time on Thur., study verbs and question list!

Lundi 09/03

We described our weekends, put together questions for a “sondage” we will do as a warm-up in class on Tuesday, and worked on dialogue drafts (turned in a rough draft at the end of class!)

A Faire :  Write a question to find out if your classmates are going to travel or stay home during Spring Break (pendant les vacances de printemps).  Then write at least 3 follow up questions in French that you could ask…for example: Where?  With who?  How will you travel there (là)?  What are you going to do?  For (pendant) how much time?

TEC:  Work on dialogue rough draft and turn in a copy before the end of class!

Devoirs : study verbs (pop quiz…), pg 71 #1 (Write out 2 sides of dialogue, Faites attention to details/instructions—suggestions, since, going to do, etc.)

Jeudi 05/03

Today we continued to practice the imperative with être/avoir and other irregular verbs as well as learned some expressions.  We also worked on dialogues and went over some homework.

A Faire:  Translate the following orders into French. The people you are talking to are given in parentheses 1. Go to bed! (ton frère)  2. Cook! (tes copains)  3. Go ahead! (une amie)  3. Let’s go!  4. Go to school (tes camarades)  5. Come here! (un garçon)

TEC :  Work on dialogues.  You will turn in a rough draft at the end of the work time (15min) on Monday!

Devoirs :  Both sides of handout…Bon conseils (the people you are talking to are in parentheses) and reading comprehension  (answer the questions in complete sentences!)

Today we practiced “depuis” and l’impératif.  We also started a dialogue project.

Devoirs :  “l’esprit de contradiction” (back of dialogue criteria, write the response only…including saying “let’s not” do that and making the suggestion given in parentheses), Come with ideas for the dialogue, Study verbs! (Pop quiz coming for “venir” and others!)

Today we reviewed “depuis” and practiced more l’impératif.

Today did a kinesthetic activity where we attached movements to our verb conjugations.  Then we learned the imperative (l’impératif).

A Faire:  Handout l’impératif #1—write the command you’d give your friend after he/she asked you the questions given.  Use “tu” form of verbs!  Do orally in partners!

Mardi 24/02

Today we continued practicing “venir de + place” and “venir de + infinitive”.  We also learned how to use “depuis” to express for how long we’ve done things.

A Faire:  PowerPoint: write 2 sentences for each slide using “venir de + place” and “venir de + infinitive” for the images/subjects given.

TEC:  pg 70 #9 (put together the sentences with a conjugation of the verb given and “depuis”), pg 71 #3 (sondage en classe)

Devoirs :  Finish Lecon 4 packet…#3 (soyez logique, use « Venir de + infinitive »), #4 (make up a logical amount of time for each and use « depuis »…the 3rd pic is of people waiting at a bus stop)

Today we practiced our new verbs “venir/revenir/devenir” and learned about the expressions “venir de + place” and “venir de + infinitive”.

A Faire :  pg 69 #7 (say what the people had just done…multiple possibilities!)

Devoirs : pg 69 #6 (2 sentences for each person: was just doing—using “venir de” + activity from column B, then going to do (now)—using “aller” + activity from column C, conjugate venir and aller and make sure your activities make sense in the order you put them..won’t have just had dinner then going to prepare it!)  Redemption quiz coming…study all verbs!!

Today we continued to practice le future immédiat (aller + infinitive) and corrected quizzes.

A Faire:  Aller handout #4 (in partners, write as many sentence sets as possible, each set must have 3 sentences with the 3 verbs, TURN IN!)

Devoirs :  leçon 4 packet #2 (say who is coming/not coming based on the sentence given for context), pg 71 #4 (write a 5 sentence paragraph detailing what you are “going to do” this weekend), Redemption quiz coming…study all verbs!!  PRACTICE!

Mardi 17/02

Today we finished looking at the Carnaval/Mardi Gras PowerPoint, learned how to make crepes with another PowerPoint and then we celebrated Mardi Gras with a fête de crêpes!

Jeudi 12/02

Today we continued to practice prepositions that allow us to talk about being in/going to different countries. We learned the expression “aller chercher”, and began to learn about the history of Mardi Gras and Carnaval.

A Faire:  Write a sentence for each of the subjects and countries, using the verb given.  Make sure to use the appropriate preposition!  Cliquez ici/Click here for PowerPoint.

TEC :  pg 67 #4 (use the expression “aller chercher” to say what the people are going to go get based on the context given and the choices in the box.  Soyez logique!)

Devoirs :  Paquet leçon 4 #B (back page, nous form, 2 things we are going to do for each time period, be logical) Study the verb « Venir » and do pg 68 #5 to practice it.  Don’t forget your supplies for the FETE DE CREPE on Tuesday (Mardi Gras!)

Mardi 10/02

Today we took a quiz over expressions with être, avoir and faire.  We also learned about prepositions (in/to) used with aller and reviewed some vocab for places.

A Faire:  Où va-t-il ?  Qu’est-ce qu’il va faire ? Ecrivez une reponse pour chaque diapo (slide) dans le PowerPoint.   Phrases completes!  *Also take notes over vocab and prepositions!!

Devoirs :  Respond to the following questions using at least 5 countries (from the list in the PowerPoint or from wordreference.com):  Où est-ce que tu veux faire un voyage?  Où est-ce que tu voudrais habiter ?, Paquet leçon 4 #1 (conjugation of aller, say what they are going to do, soyez logique!)

Today we had a guest speaker from Andeo who shared her experiences taking her French studies out into the world (traveling!)

Devoirs : Write a short (5 sentence) reflection about today’s presentation…include at least 2 new things you learned and how it applies to you/your life.  Pg 67 #3 (New Year’s resolutions…say what people are going to do/not going to do-soyez logique!), study Aller, study for quiz tomorrow (expressions, verbs)

Jeudi 05/02

Today we had a substitute.  We learned how to express what people are going to do using “aller + infinitive” (conjugation of Aller + infinitive of activity “going to do”).  Then we reviewed expressions by playing Navire de Guerre (Battleship)

Mardi 27/01

Today we reviewed "faire" and profession vocabulary then started practicing the verb"aller". We played "Loto" at the end with expressions of avoir/etre/faire.
